Everything you need to go from installing the app to reels selling on your storefront — importing videos, tagging products, choosing where reels appear, and reading what the numbers actually mean. If a step here doesn’t match what you see in your admin, email us and we’ll fix the page.
Tvora Studio turns short videos into shoppable reels on your Shopify store. You bring in videos from Instagram or TikTok or upload your own, tag the products that appear in them, and place them on your homepage and product pages. Shoppers tap a reel, watch it full screen, and add the tagged product to their cart without leaving the video. You manage all of it from the Tvora Studio dashboard, which opens in its own browser tab from your Shopify admin.
Install Tvora Studio from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions Shopify shows you. The app then opens in a new browser tab. It is not embedded inside your Shopify admin, so it opens in its own tab every time.
Nothing is charged when you install. New stores start on the Free plan.
The first time you open the app you land on the setup wizard. After you finish it, opening the app takes you straight to your dashboard.
The Carousel section has one setting that changes its whole shape. In the theme editor, click the Tvora Studio Carousel section and open Layout — how the reels show:
| Option | What you get | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Carousel — swipeable video tiles | A scrolling row of tiles with arrows | Free |
| Grid — shop-the-look wall | A wall of tiles, with a View more button when there is more than one row | Free |
| Stories — tappable circles | Round story circles, one per reel | Pro |
| Coverflow — cinematic 3D | The middle reel upright, the side reels tilted back | Pro |
| Showcase — video + product card | The video with the product name, price and button in a card below it | Pro |
If you are on Free and pick a Pro layout, your live store keeps showing the plain Carousel so shoppers still see your reels. In the theme editor you see a message saying the layout needs a higher plan.
One thing catches people out: the Stories layout inside the Carousel section is Pro, but the separate Tvora Studio Story Bar section is Free. For story circles on Free, add the Story Bar section.
| Spotlight (floating bubble) | Reel Carousel on the product page | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A small video that floats over the page | A row of tiles inside the page |
| How you add it | Switch on the Tvora Studio Engine app embed | Add a section to your product template |
| Can a shopper close it | Yes | No |
| Plan | Free | Pro |
On Free you can still put reels on your product pages with the Spotlight, the Story Bar, or both.
Two pages under Analytics: Overview and Detailed. Both read real storefront activity, both refresh on their own (the line beside the date chip reads Active · updates automatically), and both have an Export CSV button.
The buttons at the top are Today, 7D, 30D and 90D, and the chip below lets you pick your own start and end date. Today is the default. Ninety days is as far back as these pages go.
The up and down arrows on the cards compare against the period immediately before, of the same length. Today is left out of that comparison because it is only part-way through. 90D shows no arrows.
Views — a reel actually playing in front of a shopper. Counted when a reel settles in the full-screen player, when a Banner Video slide starts playing, or when a shopper taps a Spotlight set to Go to product. Scrolling past a tile is not a view. One shopper watching four reels is four views.
Widget impressions (Detailed only) — how many times a widget drew itself on a page. This is reach, not watching, and will always be larger than Views.
Clicks — the shopper tapped the product name, photo or price inside the playing reel, which opens the shop panel. Tapping a tile to open the reel is not a click.
Add to carts — a shopper pressed a Tvora Studio button and Shopify confirmed the item went in the cart. The card says From reel & widget buttons only. Two limits:
Click-through / CTR — the share of identifiable shoppers who clicked a product, not clicks divided by views. Each day counts how many separate shoppers watched and how many of those also clicked. The legend spells out the pair: Viewers (daily) and …of them clicked. A shopper who comes back on three days counts three times. Shoppers whose browser blocks storage cannot be recognised, so they appear in Views but sit out of this rate.
View → cart (Detailed) — the same idea, for shoppers who added to cart.
Watch time (Detailed) — real seconds of playback. A single stretch is capped at 10 minutes so a stuck tab cannot inflate it.
Unique viewers (Detailed) — separate visitors who watched a reel over the last 90 days.
Traffic identified as a bot is left out of all of these.
Your own visits count as engagement. Open your store once with ?tvora_analytics=off on the end of the address and that browser stops being counted. ?tvora_analytics=on turns it back on.
Revenue needs the read-orders permission. Without it the money cards show a dash and a line telling you what to grant. Some stores also need Protected customer data access enabled; the page says which of the two is missing.
There are two money numbers, and they mean different things.
Reel-tagged revenue — money from order lines whose product is tagged to one of your reels. It is a correlation, not proof the reel sold anything. It is worked out from how your reels are tagged today, so untagging a product or deleting a reel also changes past days. When two reels tag the same product, the credit goes to one of them.
Attributed revenue — the shopper demonstrably used the reel. When someone adds to cart from a reel, the reel's identity travels with that cart line into the order and is read back. It cannot be worked out for orders placed before this existed, so it starts at zero and fills in from there.
Attributed orders — orders containing at least one such line.
Both are net: cancelled and test orders are skipped, returned or removed units drop out, a partial money refund is taken off proportionally, and amounts are after discounts. Tagged revenue counts line-item money only — never shipping or tax.
Orders on the Overview is every order on your store in the period, not just reel ones.
If your store has a lot of orders in the last 90 days, an amber banner appears saying the money figures cover only the most recent slice. Views, clicks and add to carts stay complete.
Free, including the revenue cards.
Units is shown next to Orders because the money covers every unit sold.
The Detailed page is a Pro feature. On Free it shows an upgrade panel. Your Overview stays free.
Detailed adds:
A reel can show revenue but no views: revenue comes from its tagged product's orders, which can predate the reel being watched. And if the per-reel table shows a banner about earlier views, those are older views that were never linked to an individual reel and cannot be split out now.
Your dashboard Home page shows a short version with its own 7 / 30 / 90-day picker: Add to cart clicks, Reel-driven orders and Reel views, plus Top reels · last 90 days.
There are two plans: Free and Pro. You choose and change yours under Settings → Plan.
The top of that page shows Current plan, Video clicks · this month, and Reels in your library (on Pro the third becomes Next renewal).
Free forever. No card needed. The plan card lists:
A small Powered by Tvora Studio badge sits under the video in the reel player.
About 300 video clicks/month: the number is counted and shown on the Plan page, but nothing is switched off when you go past it. Your reels keep playing and shoppers can keep buying. When you are over, the page tells you so.
The plan card lists:
What that means day to day:
The charge belongs to Shopify. It appears on your Shopify invoice after the free trial ends. Nothing is charged during the 7 days. Billed monthly, cancel any time.
There is no downgrade button inside the app — the subscription belongs to Shopify, so you end it from your Shopify admin. Open Apps → Tvora Studio: where Shopify shows a plan page for the app, pick Free there; otherwise uninstall the app. Billing stops immediately either way.
A green Order on WhatsApp button on your reels. A shopper taps it and their own WhatsApp opens with a message already typed — the product name, its price and its link. They send it to you and you take the order in chat.
This is ordinary click-to-chat. There is no WhatsApp API to sign up for and nothing to connect. The shopper always starts the conversation.
The Preview panel builds a real chat link from one of your published reels, so you can message yourself and check it works.
That is expected. Before serving a reel, Tvora Studio checks the tagged product is still live in your store. A product that has been deleted, drafted, archived or left with no sellable variant is dropped from the reel, and if it was the reel's only product the whole reel stops showing.
To fix it, press Re-tag product on the reel, pick a product that is currently active, and press Save tags. Or set the original product back to Active in your Shopify admin. Allow about five minutes for your storefront to pick the change up.
If every reel in a widget was dropped this way, some placements fall back to plain product photos of your best sellers instead of videos. Same cause, same fix.
The message names the actual reason. See "When an Instagram account will not import" above. Whatever the reason, two routes always work: paste a direct link to one public reel, or upload the video file yourself.
Reinstall soon after uninstalling and this is kept: your reels and their covers, the products tagged to each reel, your stories, your widget setup and Customizations settings, your analytics history, and your saved WhatsApp number.
This is reset:
One limit: 48 hours after an uninstall, Shopify asks apps to erase that store's data, and Tvora Studio does. Reels, settings and analytics are then gone for good, and a later reinstall starts empty.
When you upload or import a reel, a smaller web copy is made in the background — at most 720 x 1280 at 30 frames per second. That starts a few seconds after the reel appears in your library, so the first few plays may use your original file and the reel can look slightly different once the copy is ready. Files already small enough are left alone.
If a reel looks soft:
If playback is slow to begin, the first play on a page has to start fetching the file. Later reels in the same widget start faster.
